Is a diesel dually worth it for towing?
I tow a fifth-wheel trailer a few times a month and want to know when a diesel dually makes sense versus a single rear wheel truck.

A diesel dually is worth it when payload and stability matter more than daily-driver convenience. Fifth-wheel and gooseneck buyers should look at the door-jamb payload sticker, rear axle rating, GVWR, GCWR, tire ratings, hitch setup, and brake controller details instead of relying only on advertised tow rating.
The upside is stability, rear-tire capacity, and confidence with heavier pin weight. The tradeoff is width, six tires, tighter parking, rougher unloaded ride, and higher ownership cost.
If you tow heavy often, a dually can be the right tool. If you tow occasionally and stay well inside payload on a single rear wheel truck, the simpler truck may be easier to live with.
